Dr. Bill Strupp is a founding member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry — and the inaugural speaker at the AACD founding meeting in 1984. He is also a founding member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and an Accredited Fellow of the AACD, one of fewer than 100 people in the world to hold that distinction.
Fellowship is the highest level of achievement recognized by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. The status of Accredited Fellow is granted only after completion of all of the AACD's requirements — the most rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation process in cosmetic dentistry. This office is one of only two dental offices in the world that has two Fellows of the AACD.
What it takes to become an AACD Fellow
AACD Fellowship is a two-stage credential. Each stage is judged by a panel of AACD examiners against published clinical and aesthetic standards — every case is photographed exhaustively, anonymized, and graded against criteria the candidate cannot see in advance.
- Accreditation. The candidate first passes a written examination on the principles of cosmetic dentistry, then submits five clinical cases for peer review — including direct composite work, a single-tooth porcelain restoration, a six-unit anterior porcelain case, and a posterior partial-coverage restoration. Each case must meet the AACD's standards for shape, contour, color, surface texture, embrasure form, gingival aesthetics, and integration with the surrounding dentition.
- Fellowship. After Accreditation, the candidate submits an additional 50 clinical cases that demonstrate mastery across the full breadth of cosmetic and restorative dentistry — anterior aesthetics, full-mouth reconstruction, implant prosthetics, tissue management, occlusion, and more. The final step is an oral examination before AACD examiners.
The process commonly takes a decade or longer to complete. Fewer than 100 dentists in the world have earned the credential.

A Practicing Clinician, Not Just an Academic
Dr. Bill Strupp is a world-class clinical dentist — not just a “wannabe” or an academic type who talks about dentistry but doesn't actually do it. A practicing dentist since 1971, Dr. Strupp does what he says and says what he believes. Over the last 50-plus years, he has become a leading cosmetic and restorative dentist.
Across his career, Dr. Strupp has placed tens of thousands of crowns and bridges. This expansive clinical experience gives him unique insight in the complex world of crowns, bridges, and aesthetics. He lectures across the United States to thousands of dentists every year, and has been published in many prominent dental publications.
“It is my aspiration to provide dental care at the highest level of quality as humanly possible in an atmosphere of genuine caring and kindness; to teach every patient the proper preventive dental techniques so the patient can keep his or her own natural teeth for a lifetime; to become a positive source of influence for my patients, my family, my profession, and the community at large.”
