About Strupp & Brumm
Two AACD Fellows. One world-class in-house laboratory. A practice built on craftsmanship.
Dr. Bill Strupp and Dr. Michael Brumm are Accredited Fellows in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry — two of fewer than 100 people with an AACD fellowship in the world. Our office has two Fellows. Fellowship is the highest level of achievement recognized by the AACD, and is granted only after completion of the most rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation process in cosmetic dentistry.

Meet the Doctors
The two AACD Fellows behind every case.
Drs. Strupp and Brumm have practiced together for more than a decade. Both are Accredited Fellows of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry — a credential held by fewer than 100 dentists worldwide — and both are deeply involved in the day-to-day craft of every case.

Dr. Bill Strupp
DDS, FAACD

Dr. Michael Brumm

Our Staff
A clinical and laboratory team trained over decades.
Behind the doctors is a hygiene team, treatment coordinators, and an in-house laboratory with more than 100 years of combined ceramist experience — many of whom have been with the practice since its early years.
Our Philosophy
Craftsmanship you can see. Collaboration you can feel.
Only about three percent of dental offices have an in-house dental laboratory. Ours brings together world-class ceramists with more than 100 years of combined experience — working in the same building as the doctors, consulting throughout your care.
Behind every great dentist stands a great team of dental technicians and ceramists. Dental offices with in-house labs possess a true advantage over traditional offices — especially when creating complex dental rehabilitations or matching a single anterior crown to neighboring natural teeth.
Our in-house laboratory technicians are highly trained in tooth morphology and anatomy, framework design, and aesthetics. With their expertise, they precisely craft your dental restoration. Because they are on the premises, we can consult with them throughout your therapy to ensure proper fit, aesthetic match, and custom adjustments.
Our top-of-the-line porcelain furnaces achieve the best aesthetics and strength for all-ceramic restorations. Each crown is checked to its die under a microscope, and verified for biocompatibility with the surrounding gum tissue.
About the Practice
Answers to the questions we hear most.
Phrased the way prospective patients actually ask them — and answered the way we would if you were sitting across from us.
- How long has Strupp & Brumm been practicing in Clearwater?
- Dr. Bill Strupp founded the practice in 1971. Dr. Michael Brumm joined more than a decade ago. The practice has cared for multi-generational Clearwater and Tampa Bay families for over 50 years at our office on N Belcher Road.
- What is an AACD Accredited Fellow?
- Accredited Fellowship in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry is the highest credential in cosmetic dentistry. It is granted only after the most rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation process in the field — a multi-year sequence of written examinations, peer-reviewed clinical case submissions, and an oral examination. Fewer than 100 dentists in the world hold the credential. Both Dr. Strupp and Dr. Brumm are AACD Accredited Fellows, making this office one of only two in the world with two Fellows under one roof.
- What makes Strupp & Brumm different from other Clearwater cosmetic dentists?
- Three things, primarily. First, the practice has two AACD Accredited Fellows on staff — a credential held by fewer than 100 dentists worldwide. Second, the office operates a fully equipped in-house dental laboratory with master ceramists who collaborate on every case (only about 3% of dental offices have this). Third, treatment suites are private, full-sized rooms — not partitioned operatories — which means complex cases are scheduled one patient at a time.
- Is Dr. Strupp really the team dentist for the New York Yankees?
- Yes. Dr. Bill Strupp was named Team Cosmetic Dentist for the New York Yankees by George Steinbrenner in 1995, and he has five World Series rings. Dr. Brumm also serves as Team Cosmetic Dentist for the New York Yankees.
- What kinds of dental cases does the practice take on?
- Strupp & Brumm is a full-service general and family dental practice — routine exams, hygiene, and preventive care alongside advanced cosmetic and restorative work. Specialties include porcelain veneers, full smile design, dental implants and full-arch implant hybrids (the AACD Fellow-level prosthetic alternative to All-on-4®, with surgical placement coordinated through our specialist partners), full-mouth reconstruction, a digital design workflow (arch scanning, digital smile design) paired with hand-pressed ceramic and hand-cast gold restorations from our in-house master ceramist lab, and traumatic dental injury restoration.
- Do you accept dental insurance?
- The practice is out-of-network with all dental insurance plans by choice. As a courtesy, we file claims on your behalf so you can capture any out-of-network benefits available under your plan. Treatment is quoted in full, with a written estimate of what insurance is likely to contribute, before any work begins.
- How many continuing-education students have studied at the practice?
- More than 45,000 dentists have attended seminars taught by Dr. Strupp over a 23-year run as a Dentistry Today Leader in Continuing Education. Dr. Brumm lectures nationally and internationally on simplifying complex cosmetic and restorative dentistry, and serves as a Key Opinion Leader for Nobel Biocare, Neoss Implants, and GC America.
